Spotlight Timișoara AR app for iPhone and iPad

Spotlight Heritage reveals, by digital storytelling, Timisoara through stories of cultural and historical heritage, of technical development, of communities and neighborhoods, interwoven with the personal stories of the inhabitants of yesterday and today.

This app is dedicated to overlaying a historical image of a landmark building over the live camera view.

-- Using the app --
1. Situated in a certain location, you open the app.
2. You open the photo-video camera and in a corner of the screen, you see a pictogram with the facade of the building which the phone can recognise (to understand how to position yourself to the building).
3. Scanning that facade, you see an image of the old building overlayed on the one in front of you. In the map mode, with all the stations, you can change on AR mode, and you will see the stations around you and the distance to them.

Spotlight Heritage is a digital cultural initiative of the "Politehnica" University of Timișoara realized in partnership with the National Museum of the Banat and with the Timișoara Association 2021 European Capital of Culture.

Spotlight Heritage involves the population of Timișoara and its visitors in a complex real - virtual world that combines the old history of Timișoara, presented as a digital story, through a website and a mobile application; and the museographic exhibition at the headquarters of the National Museum of Banat but also in public places in the neighborhoods, under the title "Timisoara and the allegory of the senses".

In 2019, under the spotlight was the Iosefin district, and in 2020 we continue with the Elisabetin district.
